Bangalorean Anup Sridhar defeated former world number 1 and Olympic champion Taufik Hidayat of Indonesia. Though the tournament has progressed, I want to take a snapshot of this moment and let the feeling sink in.
Taufik Hidayat is to say the least is born to play the game of badminton. Elegance personified and a game which has cult following. A simile in cricketing terms: There is a huge fan following for Azhar's game than Dravid's.
Such victories are not mere victories, these indeed are allegories which can be used to show to the world the accretion in the self-belief among Indians as world beaters. Visualize the independence day with Sharukh saying DO-minate and Anup DO-ing it.
